Itinerary

6 night / 7 day Explore Wales Self Drive

Day 1: Cardiff

Pick up your rental car and depart London for Wales. Make your own way to your hotel before beginning to explore the city, visit Cardiff Castle and the waterfront at Cardiff Bay. Sport fans might be interested in a tour of Principality Stadium. Overnight in Cardiff.

Day 2: Cardiff to Pembrokeshire (B)

This morning leave Cardiff and drive through Pembrokeshire National Park. Admire the stunning coastal scenery and walk around Tenby. Take a boat trip out to Caldey Island or continue along the coast to visit St David’s. Overnight in Pembrokeshire.

Day 3: Pembrokeshire to Llandudno (B)

Drive along the scenic west coast of Wales. Stop in Aberaeron, a picturesque village with colourful houses. Continue through Aberystwyth, on to Machynlleth or Barmouth. Visit Harlech Castle or travel along the coast to Portmeirion. Spend the next two nights in Snowdonia.

Day 4: Llandudno (B)

Spend the day at leisure exploring North Wales. Discover Anglesey, the island off the coast of North Wales. Alternatively, explore the Llyn Peninsula and its stunning coastal scenery.

Day 5: Snowdonia to Llandrindod Wells (B)

Stop and visit the exceptionally well-preserved Conwy Castle before driving through scenic Snowdonia National Park. Stop at some of the lovely villages along the way. Overnight in Llandrindod Wells.

Day 6: Llandrindod Wells to Cardiff (B)

Today discover Brecon Beacons National Park. Stop at Hay-on-Wye, renowned for its many book shops. Continue through the national park, before arriving into Cardiff. Spend the remainder of the day exploring Wales’ capital city. Overnight in Cardiff.

Day 7: Cardiff (B)

Your adventure ends following breakfast, hotel check out and the return of your rental car.
